2024 Symposium on Recent Developments in Time Series Econometrics and Applied Macroeconomics Successfully Held

On October 21, the 2024 Symposium on Recent Developments in Time Series Econometrics and Applied Macroeconomics was held in the Economics Building of Xiamen University. Prof. Thomas Sargent, winner of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Economics, was specially invited to give a keynote speech entitled “Dynamic Mode Decompositions and Vector Autoregressions”. The symposium aimed to spur academic exchanges and innovations, and promote new developments and applications of econometrics and macroeconomics.


The symposium also included a number of invited speeches, with 12 scholars from Monash University, the University of Amsterdam, the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Hunan University, and Xiamen University delivering exciting lectures in turn.

This is the second year that Xiamen University has organized the Symposium on Recent Developments in Time Series Econometrics and Applied Macroeconomics. The symposium focuses on the latest research progress in time series econometrics and applied macroeconomics, and the topics include time series econometrics, Chinese macroeconomics, forecasting and macroeconomic risks, etc.
